Ward 4th of July Breakfast and Bike Parade

Saturday, July 2nd we held our Annual Ward 4th of July breakfast. It was the perfect day for it. The kids loved that they got to decorate their bikes the night before, and make hats. The primary was in charge of a bike parade and face painting, both of which were a huge success, although my back was pretty sore after bending over countless little faces to paint flags, fireworks and stars.

Last year's breakfast was somewhat of a flop. The Elder's Quorum was in charge and they really screwed it up. They didn't bring enough food, and they only brought one grill/griddle.. A 45 minute wait for food wasn't ideal. But, they redeemed themselves this year and brought more than enough food, and plenty of griddles. Thank heavens. I was a little worried!

Target had these cute Flag shirts for only 3 dollars which I snatched up for the boys. We were all patriotic!

And off they go! We had a perfect circular trail at the park that worked really well for little kids on parade.

Calder's hand still wasn't working too well for this parade, since it was just the day before that he shot it with an epi-pen. But by later that afternoon all was well again.
